Former Texas A&M quarterback Kyle Allen may have already found his next team, and it isn’t very far away.

Allen, who announced that he’d be transferring from the Aggies last Thursday, reportedly met with Houston head coach Tom Herman on Sunday, according to SportsRadio610 in Houston:

“Allen, a former five-star recruit out of Scottsdale, Ariz., met with Herman and at least one other member of the Houston Cougars staff at an undisclosed location in town. After sitting out the 2016 season, which will be Greg Ward Jr.’s final season, Allen will have two seasons of eligibility.”

There may not be a better fit in the entire country for Allen in terms of maximizing his potential. Herman is known for his explosive offenses and quarterbacks have flourished under his watch.

Allen traded off with freshman Kyler Murray at times in 2015, but he finished the regular season with 283 pass attempts to Murray’s 121. Both were five-star recruits in high school and fought for the starting job throughout fall camp.

Allen joins former Oklahoma signal-caller Trevor Knight among transfer QBs currently on the market.

As for the Aggies, they don’t have a quarterback committed in the 2016 class. Other quarterbacks on the roster include junior-to-be Jake Hubenak and senior-to-be Conner McQueen.
