Just one game into the season, and bits of controversy is already swirling around Baton Rouge.

According to a report from The Advocate, LSU athletic director Joe Alleva was not too pleased with the Tigers’ 16-14 loss to Wisconsin in the opening week of the season. He opened up about the defeat on an LSU pregame radio show:

“Myself, like all of our fans, are disappointed with that performance. I know how hard our players worked in the offseason, really worked hard and prepared, and it really didn’t show in that game. Of course, I’m disappointed. But, on the other hand, it was the first game and all of the goals for this season are still available.”

Alleva admitted that the ‘goals’ for the season (winning the SEC) are still in play. Howver should LSU’s offense continue to sputter, things could get dicey when it comes to sustaining success in conference play.

With the recent history between Alleva, the LSU administration and head coach Les Miles, this will be a major story to watch going forward.
