Report: LSU to pay historic salary to DC Dave Aranda for staying in Baton Rouge

Entering this season, LSU DC Dave Aranda was already one of the highest-paid coordinators in college football.
However, after he spurned a pursuit from Texas A&M on Wednesday night, he’ll now be even richer, as LSU is going to pony up some serious dough to keep him around.
Ross Dellenger of The Advocate reports that Aranda is expected to become the first coordinator to have a salary of more than $2 million:
You can expect #LSU's Dave Aranda to be college football's first assistant to make over $2 million a year.
The Tigers swooped in mid-morning, battled Texas A&M's latest offer and kept their man.

In fact, according to Texas A&M beat reporter Billy Liucci, Aranda will have a four-year, $10 million contract, fully guaranteed:
Hearing Aranda will make $2.5 million per year for four years, all guaranteed, to remain in Baton Rouge

That’s a historic amount to pay for a coordinator, but the Tigers clearly believe in Aranda and his defensive schemes.
For now, he’s in Baton Rouge, and it doesn’t appear he’ll be going anywhere anytime soon after LSU’s latest offer.
