Tennessee reportedly has a new name in the mix to replace Matt Darr at punter.

According to a report from 247sports, former Maryland punter Nathan Renfro will transfer to Tennessee as a graduate and will be eligible to play this fall. Renfro punted for the Terrapins for the last three years, with 2014 standing as his finest season. Last fall, he averaged 41.5 yards per punt. For his three-year career at Maryland, he averaged 40.7 yards per punt.

Renfro is from the Nashville, Tenn. area, where he attended Brentwood Academy.

Also joining the Volunteers this fall is incoming freshman Tommy Townsend. Renfro and Townsend will compete with redshirt sophomore walk-on Trevor Daniel for the starting job, assuming Renfro’s transfer is cleared.
