Former Auburn defense back Tim Irvin is reportedly favoring East Carolina as a potential transfer destination. According to a report from 247Sports, East Carolina is the “heavy leader” to land the sophomore, who announced his plans to transfer on May 25.

Irvin, a former four-star prospect who recorded 18 tackles and two pass breakups as a true freshman, said in June that he “wasn’t comfortable or happy” playing at Auburn.

“Auburn is a good school,” Irvin said. “I felt they could have used me different.”

Irvin has also received interest from Kansas, Maryland, North Carolina, Oregon State, West Virginia and Wisconsin since announcing his decision to transfer. He will be forced to sit out the 2016 season should he transfer to an FBS program.
