According to a report from The Advocate, LSU running back Leonard Fournette did not make the trip to Texas with the team.

As such, he will not play against Texas A&M on Thanksgiving Day in College Station.

Fournette has been battling an ankle injury all season long. It’s hindered his explosiveness on the field, and has kept him from participating in four games this season.

With the 2017 NFL Draft in sight, we may never see Fournette play in an LSU jersey again. It’s plausible to believe the junior running back out of New Orleans will want to minimize any damage to his ankle.

In essence, he’ll want to get it as healthy as possible with the draft combine looming. While Fournette hasn’t officially declared for the draft, it would be a complete shock to see him return for a senior year.
