One of the biggest goals coaches have during preseason scrimmages is to keep everyone healthy.

Unfortunately for the Alabama Crimson Tide, that didn’t happen on Saturday, as senior walk-on WR Donnie Lee Jr. reportedly suffered a torn ACL during the scrimmage.

According to 247Sports, coach Nick Saban confirmed after the scrimmage that Lee was injured, but the severity wasn’t known at the time:

“Donnie Lee (Jr.), who has been a very productive, good team player for us as a receiver got a knee injury today,” Saban said. “We hope to confirm the seriousness of that with an MRI.”

Lee likely wasn’t going to contribute much on the field this fall, but it’s still a hit to Alabama’s depth chart and a tough way for the senior to have his season end.
