Report: Tennessee receiver Jauan Jennings has marijuana citation dismissed

Monday reportedly brought good news for Tennessee receiver Jauan Jennings, as the Volunteers’ rising junior looks to have officially moved on from his January citation for marijuana possession.
According to 1180AM Knoxville radio host Tony Basilio, Jennings had his citation dismissed on costs Monday morning. Jennings needs only to pay his court costs for the issue to be dismissed.

Soon after news of the Jennings’ arrest made headlines, Tennessee head coach Butch Jones released the following statement regarding the situation, “We’re aware of the situation and we’re handling it internally. ”
Based on that statement, as long as Jennings doesn’t get in any other trouble before the season opener, it’s hard to imagine he misses any of the upcoming season for Tennessee.
Tennessee’s leading returning receiver in 2017, Jennings caught 40 passes for 580 yards and seven touchdowns last season. The upcoming campaign will be the first in which Jennings will be asked to be the team’s No. 1 receiver.
With this issue behind him, will Jennings step up and take a leadership role with the team, or will he continue to be a problem for the coaching staff in the coming summer months leading into a crucial fall season for the Tennessee program?
