After all the shuffling Derek Mason did with his coaching staff this offseason, it appears he’s not done yet. Less than a month after hiring Todd Lyght away from the Philadelphia Eagles to coach cornerbacks at Vanderbilt, reports indicate that Mason will have to find a replacement for Lyght.

According to a report from 247sports, Lyght is expected to join Notre Dame’s staff as a replacement for Kerry Cooks, who recently left the Fighting Irish for Oklahoma.

Lyght starred for the Irish on the field from 1987-90, finishing his career with 11 interceptions, and was chosen No. 5 overall by the St. Louis Rams in the 1991 NFL draft. After a 12-year NFL career, he moved into coaching, starting at Bishop Gorman High School before getting a job at Oregon as a defensive assistant. He was hired by his former Oregon boss, Chip Kelly, to coach defensive backs for the Eagles.

If Lyght does indeed leave for Notre Dame before coaching a game for the Commodores, Mason will have to make his fifth new hire of the offseason. He already brought on Andy Ludwig as offensive coordinator, Cortez Hankton as wide receivers coach and James Dobson as strength coach. In addition, Mason announced that he will run the defense in 2015.
