Washington State head coach Mike Leach has agreed to a new deal as the Cougars’ head coach.
Leach reportedly signed a five-year deal worth about $4 million annually on Monday. He was making around $3 million annually before the new deal.
The new deal will put his salary among the top third of Pac-12 coaches, according to a report from Sports Illustrated. Bruce Feldman, who co-authored Leach’s biography, “Swing Your Sword,” reported the deal.
Leach is 38-37 overall during his tenure in Pullman and has won nine games in two of the past three seasons. Leach has compiled a 19–8 record in Pac-12 play over the past three seasons.
No. 18 Wazzu faces No. 16 Michigan State in the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 28 at 9 p.m. ET on FS1.
Leach was rumored as a candidate for some SEC jobs — including Arkansas and Tennessee — during the recent coaching carousel.
