Rich Rodriguez is a respected college football coach.

The coach spent time as the head coach for West Virginia, Michigan, and Arizona, and is now the HC for the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.

Recently, Rodriguez was asked if his Gamecocks would ever play in-state titan Alabama. The coach had a humorous response to this question and made his demands clear.

“If they want to pay me $2 million, I’ll be down there on Saturday and Sunday, I’ll play them twice and help our budget. They can beat our brains in for a couple million dollars, for sure,” Rodriguez declared.

Rodriguez even mentioned that he would call his “buddy” Greg Byrne, who is Alabama’s athletic director, and give him this offer. Byrne was the AD at Arizona during Rodriguez’s tenure, so the pair know each other well.

It will be interesting to see if Rodriguez eventually gets his wish to play the Crimson Tide.

Rodriguez’s squad had a tough Week 1, falling to Coastal Carolina by a score of 55-27.
