At the top – to no one’s surprise – is Georgia. The Bulldogs were the sole team in tier 1, and rightfully so. The Bulldogs have separated themselves from the rest of the nation with 3 dominating wins to start out the season.
Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Michigan made up the tier 2 teams after all 4 teams have gotten off to hot starts and flown through their first 3 weeks of football.
There aren’t many shockers in tier 3, as Kentucky, Clemson, Oklahoma State, Southern Cal, Minnesota, Arkansas and Tennessee make up the third tier.
Kentucky, Arkansas and Tennessee have turned their programs around this season. The last decade has not gone well for these 3 teams, but they have showed great promise thus far.
In the final tier is Penn State, Oregon, BYU, Baylor, Utah and Texas. These teams have shown some promise, but not enough to crack the top tiers. Penn State has proved to be a team to be reckoned with, coming off a big SEC win over Auburn.
