Robby Ashford earns social media praise after strong 1st half against Alabama
Robby Ashford has had an up and down season for Auburn.
But when it comes to freshman quarterbacks, that’s pretty much par for the course.
What Ashford has shown on a regular basis is immense athleticism, most notably as a dangerous running threat.
The Tigers trail Alabama at halftime of the Iron Bowl 35-14 and have struggled defensively and on special teams.
But Ashford is playing arguably the best game of his young career, despite not having many chances in the opening 30 minutes.
He’s completed 8-of-15 passes for 60 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions, while also adding 61 yards and a score on the ground.

Ashford has opened plenty of eyes on social media with his play this afternoon.
Here’s a sampling of some of the comments:
Robby Ashford has a chance to be really good. I doubt Auburn’s defense can make enough stops to keep them in the game, but this kid can play.
