With 14 compensatory picks tacked on at the end, the sixth round of the NFL Draft went on for 46 picks.
That made for ample opportunity to get some more SEC players off the board.
Texas A&M punter Drew Kaser became the first punter selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, which is no small feat. It’s a great honor for a punter to be selected in the draft, as most of them have to try to work their way onto a roster via free agency.
Arkansas QB Brandon Allen became the second SEC QB to get drafted. He goes to Jacksonville, where he will presumably compete to back up former first-round pick Blake Bortles.
Kentucky LB Josh Forrest was the first Wildcats player selected, meaning that 12 of the SEC teams can now boast at least one player selected in the draft. Only Tennessee and Vanderbilt remain without a player drafted.
