Rutgers attempts awful high-school level trick play, fails miserably

Rutgers entered Saturday’s clash against Michigan with an undefeated record, but it’s safe to say the Scarlet Knights had yet to face competition quite like the Wolverines.

In the Big Ten opener for both schools, the Wolverines hold a 17-3 lead as halftime approaches.

And, the Scarlet Knights are learning some valuable lessons. Namely, that a defense as good as Michigan’s isn’t fooled by high-school level trick play attempts.

As you can see below, the Scarlet Knights attempted the whole “QB is confused, but the RB gets the snap” play, and it failed miserably:

The fact that it took a full second for the running back to get under center and actually receive the snap helped the Wolverines have time to adjust.

Back to the drawing board for Rutgers.
