The reports are true.
Nick Saban confirmed that former Oregon and Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly made a visit to Tuscaloosa while answering questions during the College Football Playoff media day on Saturday.
But the nature of the visit was a bit more cryptic.

Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin was also asked about Kelly’s visit:

As expected, this was likely the case of a recently fired prominent coach paying a visit to some of his friends in between interviewing for his next gig.
It has been reported that Kelly recently interviewed with the San Francisco 49ers and would seem to be a candidate for a head-coaching job only at this point in his career.
Still yet, whispers about Kelly and Alabama likely won’t go away until there’s a zero percent chance that he joins the team in some capacity.
