Georgia stayed the course, Alabama avoided an upset, ranked teams Kentucky and Mississippi State fell to unranked SEC foes … but on Saturday night there was only one hashtag rippling through the SEC universe: #FireDanMullen.

Florida’s blowout loss at South Carolina sent Gators fans to their keyboards in full force, even as the game was going on:

The Gators trailed 40-10 at one point in an undoubted low point of the Mullen tenure in Gainesville:

UF fans seem to feel that a coaching change is inevitable:

One Twitter poster reminded others how to direct their ire:

It seems clear, Gators fans are fed up:

Elsewhere in the college football world, Purdue was looking for another upset of a top-5 opponent:

And the Boilermakers pulled it off against No. 3 Michigan State, followed by a storm-the-field moment including some folks in costumes:

Quite a few people in costumes, actually. Didn’t anybody tell these spectators that Halloween was last weekend?

Cincinnati remained unbeaten but, for the third week in a row, did not look impressive against a team with a losing record:

Our old friend #SurrenderCobra made an appearance — where else but Lincoln, Nebraska, site of yet another close Cornhuskers loss:

Arizona broke its 20-game losing streak with a win over depleted Cal, which led to a tie-in regarding a certain NFL quarterback and former Golden Bears star:

Air Force, which defeated Navy earlier this season, had a chance to clinch the Commander in Chief’s Trophy but lost to Army:

Yep, it was Cobra time for Falcons fans:

Maryland fans endured yet another loss to Penn State. If you have to lose, do it in style. Just not this style:

Finally, some folks at the Ole Miss-Liberty game had their Spidey Senses tingling:

Didn’t we just tell you that Halloween was last wee … oh, forget it. If wearing a costume can help stave off sadness, so be it. Right, Gators fans?
