Sad fans are sad, Week 7

The Florida-Georgia battle for supremacy in the SEC East took center stage in the conference on Saturday. And for the first time since 2016, Gators fans were the ones who left Jacksonville with a happy feeling.

But this isn’t called Happy Fans Are Happy, is it?

So take it away, Georgia fans:

See what we mean? Here is another example:

The Georgia defense, one of the most talented in the nation, has allowed 40-plus points twice in the past few weeks, first to Alabama then to Florida. And Dawgs fans feel some feelings when their D misses opportunities:

Florida trailed 14-0 then 21-14, so Gators fans felt some angst early on as well, complete with a #SurrenderCobra:

Tennessee fans, however, would love to have Florida’s or even Georgia’s problems right now, especially after the Vols squandered a lead in losing to Arkansas.

And at least it led us to a Beavis and Butt-Head reference. So that’s uhhh, cool and stuff.

It’s not cool for UT followers on social media, mind you:

We are not sure who or what this young Mississippi State fan was gesturing at, but at least the lad was having a good time in MSU’s win over Vanderbilt:

Around the country, Kansas football continues to be the epitome of a fanbase asking: “When does basketball season start?” after the Jayhawks were thumped by Oklahoma:

This group at the Oklahoma State-Kansas State game had their outfits together, but it didn’t seem to bring them joy early on:

This is a savage sentiment from a Clemson fan, but we have to give bonus points for knowing about the famous Notre Dame Cathedral, which caught fire last year in Paris:

Maryland took down Penn State for just the third time in more than 40 meetings, leading the Terrapins’ football Twitter account to go to work on its trolling game:

Finally, though there is no sadness here, we have to pass along this glorious big guy touchdown. Even better? Rutgers offensive lineman Raiqwon O’Neal, who reported as eligible, caught a backward pass from Noah Vedral to score against Ohio State — so it actually counted as a 4-yard touchdown run for the nearly 300-pound tackle:

Let’s have more big guy touchdowns for the holidays, shall we?
