Each week I’ll be trying to find the best of the sad fan pictures, videos, what have you. If you see one that should definitely be included feel free to email it in to mack@saturdaydownsouth.com
The SEC schedule this past week wasn’t exactly a tough one. In fact, it was really just a bunch of cupcake games. I’ve never met anyone who has been sad about cupcakes in my life. Cupcakes are little treats of deliciousness, so I’m not sure who would ever be upset about having such pastry in their lives.
That being said, there was one SEC team that struggled. Struggled is actually being quite kind. Vanderbilt looks like the worst team in the country right now. The fact that their only offensive points have come off a drive that went for negative yards is dumbfounding. We posted it shortly after it happened, but here it is again. This Vandy fan had enough and couldn’t bear to have anything with the school name touching his skin.
The aftermath was pretty great too as some other fans were more than happy to scoop up the remains.
And yes an Ole Miss fan was quick to ask for the souvenir. #vandy #olemiss pic.twitter.com/f3IBpFWDMN

So, other than that, we move outside the SEC and on to Ohio State. Of course there were other Big 10 teams that went down, but OSU was the last hope of the night. A potential bright spot in an otherwise dismal day. Well…
It appears the Ohio State band was ready to pull out all the stops in order to get some help against Virginia Tech. Unfortunately Gotham must’ve had something a little more pressing going on.
Seems a little drastic but I guess Buckeyes can use any help they can get pic.twitter.com/dhMOrBbhpa

This fan encapsulates the feelings of Big 10 fans around the country. “How. Did. This. Happen?” I don’t know, but the legends and leaders look like anything but.
The only thing more depressing than watching your team lose is to have someone next to you who is having an exponentially inverse reaction to you. This Va Tech fan is killing it and we salute him.
No doubt many Big 10 fans found themselves attached to a bottle Saturday night, but for some the despair carried over into Sunday morning.
Drinking alone at 9 am this morning. Thanks B1G.

Can’t say I blame you there, Kevin.
Worked for the internet in Los Angeles before being lured back to Florida by SEC football and the promise of a bourbon bar. When he's not internetting or watching football, he's probably out giving himself 4-footers on the golf course.
