Sad fans are sad, Week 3: Home bummers

South Carolina lost at home to Alabama, which was expected. Kentucky lost at home to Florida, which was basically expected, except the way it happened was unexpected. Kansas State won at Mississippi State, which few would have expected.

One thing you can totally expect? That all of those home losses in the SEC would produce some sad fans.

Step right up, Kentucky. Wildcats fans envisioned beating Florida for the second year in a row, which they had only been waiting for since 1976-77. It was not to be…

…thanks to a Gator comeback and a late missed field goal.

It has gotten to the point where Tennessee fans are dragging Kentucky fans … about basketball?!?

Florida had some legit sadness all its own, first because it was trailing most of the game:

South Carolina fans probably could have anticipated that their emotions would go through the gamut when Alabama came to town:

Georgia and Florida, as expected, look to be the SEC East favorites, but Reddit has an interesting, amusing take both on which states are “East” and which might be the best:

We have to ask: Did some Tennessee fan really go to the Georgia game just to wear a paper bag over his head? Or was this a Georgia fan who went to the trouble of buying a Vols jersey just to pull this gag? Which would be weirder?

Around the nation, the battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy between Iowa State and Iowa gave Cyclones fans in Ames a play to remember, but not in a good way:

Going back to Friday, Boston College lost by 24 at home. To Kansas. That would be Les Miles’ team. Those would be the Jayhawks, who hadn’t beaten a Power 5 team on the road in 48 tries going back more than a decade.
