Tennessee was so close to making Saturday’s rivalry game at Alabama interesting.
Then Jarrett Guarantano fumbled, the Crimson Tide ran it back 100 yards to make it 35-13, and Vols fans were left with a sad feeling against the Crimson Tide for the 13th consecutive year:

Mississippi State fans hoped their Bulldogs would copy their 2017 performance against LSU. Not so much:

We always love a good #SurrenderCobra sighting, such as this one on the sideline at the Ole Miss-Texas A&M game:

And Arkansas just kept on being Arkansas on its way to a 15th consecutive SEC loss:

Arkansas can’t see a way out of the basement from here, noting Vandy’s upset win over Mizzou as well:

South Carolina got the blues a bit after losing to Florida, but Gamecocks fans can take heart from last week’s win over Georgia and the fact that they led the Gators for a pretty decent chunk of Saturday’s game. Or turn to a cute kid for solace, at least:

But there was little consolation for Kentucky fans in a shutout loss to Georgia:

As for Miami, fans who thought they had a rising top-10 program just a couple of years ago were not dealing well with losing at home to a bad Georgia Tech team (Warning — NSFW language):

Perhaps the biggest shock of the college football season came in Champaign, Ill., where the Fighting Illini knocked off previously unbeaten Wisconsin with a last-second field goal. Illinois then pulled off what the kids call a “troll job” by playing House of Pain’s Jump Around, the signature song during games at Wisconsin’s Camp Randall Stadium:

For those watching at one establishment, the Illinois win was a moment of joy — except for one Badgers fan who struck a classic #SurrenderCobra pose:

And another Cobra struck in Louisville against Clemson:

In a bottom-dweller battle in Conference USA, Rice and Texas-San Antonio were drawing very little love (UTSA prevailed 31-27 to keep Rice winless, by the way):

And remember kids, no matter how much of a bummer your weekend might have been, cheer yourselves up with this thought: It could be worse. You could be the Pac-12:
UCLA beat Stanford and Oregon State beat Cal this weekend. What's the worst team in the Pac-12?
