Sam Bennett finished off an incredible week at Augusta National on Sunday afternoon.

Bennett, a current Texas A&M golfer, finished the week 2-under par and was the top amateur in the field. Bennett also secured a top-20 finish, becoming the 1st amateur to do so since 2005.

Bennett finished in a tie for 16th place after shooting 2-over in the final round. He ended the tournament 10 strokes behind the eventual winner, Jon Rahm.

Entering the 4th round, Bennett had a score of 4-under par. Through 54 holes, that was the 2nd best score of all time at the Masters by an amateur.

Given the magnitude of what he achieved this week, patrons at August National gave him a standing ovation as he walked up the 18th hole on Sunday.

Here’s video of that moment:

Bennett is scheduled to begin play in the Aggie Invitational on Monday.
