Savoring the Spotlight: Biggest Week 6 games in the SEC East and SEC West

We’re beginning to meet that portion of the schedule where teams must bring it each week and anything can happen.
There are some huge conference games for the SEC in Week 6, and SDS is going to break down who’s savoring the spotlight.
SEC East
Florida at Tennessee: The Vols haven’t beaten Florida since 2004, but this could be the year. Tennessee almost got a big win at Georgia last weekend, but the offensive troubles for the Gators have been well-documented and the Volunteers have the talent at the skill positions to take advantage of a suspect Florida secondary.
South Carolina at Kentucky: The Gamecocks are coming off a tough loss and now head to the Bluegrass State to face a Kentucky team on the rise. Mike Davis has been nowhere to be found this season, leaving Dylan Thompson and Carolina’s talented corps of wide receivers to put points on the board. The Wildcats have some playmakers on the defensive side of the ball and Patrick Towles has played very well.
SEC West
Alabama at Ole Miss: Many analysts circled this game as a potential upset game in the preseason, and the Tide are hovering around a touchdown favorite. The atmosphere at The Grove is going to be historic, but does Ole Miss have enough weapons on the offensive side of the football to get the win? Who shows up, Dr. Bo or Mr. Pick?
Texas A&M at Mississippi State: It’s another chance for a statement win for Dan Mullen and the Bulldogs. Texas A&M’s offense led by Kenny Hill has been prolific through its first five games, but the defense has not had a lot of success stopping the run. Dak Prescott can make his case as a legit Heisman contender this weekend.
LSU at Auburn: Don’t forget about the nightcap on the Plains. It’s a huge showdown in the SEC West between No. 5 Auburn and No. 15 LSU. The Bayou Bengals have Auburn’s number as of late, winning six of the last seven. Auburn has holes, but can it shore up some of the question marks against a sneaky good LSU team?
