Mississippi State’s defensive backfield took a hit this week as the school has announced senior safety Deontay Evans intends to transfer from the program. Evans is no longer listed on the Bulldogs’ official online roster.
In three seasons of play, Evans has combined to rack up 85 tackles, five passes defended and one forced fumble.
Mississippi State’s official online roster does not list specific defensive defensive back positions but now contains 14 total defensive backs, although it appears several newcomers will soon be added to the roster:
One veteran not on preseason 2016 roster is S Deontay Evans. Seven more spring camp participants not on newest roster.
