Missouri and Vanderbilt are set to open conference play next week against each other, and the SEC announced the two teams will kick off at 4:15 ET, 3:15 local CT on the SEC Network.
The Tigers have started this much-anticipated season 3-0, fresh off a 27-21 win over then-No. 24 Boston College at home. After cruising in victories over Murray State and Buffalo to start the year, Mizzou received a tougher test from Bill O’Brien’s Eagles, having to battle back from down 14-3 before holding off a fourth-quarter BC rally.
With a bye week looming after the date with the Commodores, Eli Drinkwitz & Co. are hoping to emerge from this game with a 4-0 record, sitting in prime position for a spot among the SEC’s elite as the schedule begins to heat up.
Vanderbilt, on the other hand, has been a tough team to figure out. New Mexico State transfer quarterback Diego Pavia led the Commodores to a surprise Week 1 upset over Virginia Tech, and Clark Lea’s squad easily took down Alcorn State the following week.
But, Vandy proceeded to lose to Georgia State on Saturday, falling 36-32 thanks to a last-minute touchdown from the Panthers. Now, much of that early-season momentum appears to be lost as the ‘Dores venture to Faurot Field.
