The Southeastern Conference announced its players of the week following Week 12 action that featured plenty of surprising outcomes both in the SEC and beyond.

One of the most intriguing games was the 63-38 win by South Carolina over Tennessee in which Gamecocks quarterback Spencer Rattler put on a show, completing 30-of-37 passes for 438 yards with 6 touchdowns on an interception-free day. It was the closest he had looked to what he was expected to be ahead of the 2021 season.

It does not come as any surprise that Rattler was among those recognized when the weekly honor was announced. Here’s a look at the complete list of players recognized by the conference this week:

  • SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week: QB Spencer Rattler, South Carolina
  • SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week: RB Raheim Sanders, Arkansas
  • SEC Defensive Player of the Week: LB Drew Sanders, Arkansas
  • SEC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week: PK Jack Podlesny, Georgia
  • SEC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week: LS Wesley Schelling, Vanderbilt
  • SEC Freshman Player of the Week: RB Quinshon Judkins, Ole Miss
  • SEC Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week: LT Jaylen Nichols, South Carolina
  • SEC Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week: C Ricky Stromberg, Arkansas
  • SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week: DL Nazir Stackhouse, Georgia

It will be interesting to see how many of these players can pull a repeat as the end of the regular season draws near in the upcoming week of games.
