Ten SEC teams are taking a break from conference play Saturday by taking on Big 12 opponents. The conference announced Saturday that the challenge is here to stay for six more years.

“The SEC-Big 12 Challenge has become a date everyone circles on the college basketball calendar,” the SEC said in a release. “Our fans and teams enjoy the competitive experience and high quality college basketball. We are pleased to extend this successful agreement with the Big 12 and ESPN.”

This year’s challenge is underway with Alabama at Baylor, Ole Miss vs. Iowa State and Florida at TCU currently being played. Later games include Georgia vs. Texas, Tennessee vs. West Virginia and Kentucky vs. Kansas. Ten of the 14 SEC teams play all 10 members of the Big 12, the conferences host five games each year. ESPN’s family of networks will continue to air the games.
