Mike Leach remains in critical condition in a Jackson, Mississippi, hospital Monday.
Mississippi State released a statement about Leach’s status late Monday morning that confirmed as much but offered little more in the way of detail.
But Leach’s health remains front and center with college football coaches, analysts, players, and fans around the country.
The 61-year-old Leach is in his 3rd season with the Bulldogs and has compiled a 19-17 record, including an 8-4 mark so far this season.
Leach is 158-107 overall as a college head coach, which also includes stints at Texas Tech and Washington State.
Not surprisingly given his quirky personality and dry sense of humor, Leach is highly popular in the college football world, and many have taken to social media to wish him and his family the best in this unfortunate situation:
