SEC commissioner Greg Sankey snubs LSU in thank you release

After the saga of rescheduling the Florida-LSU game mercifully drew to an end this week, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey released a statement thanking those who worked with the SEC in ensuring the important game would actually happen.
However, one of the two SEC schools was noticeably left out of Sankey’s thank you:
“It was important for us to come to a resolution. Each university had its own set of concerns throughout this process, however existing SEC regulations did not provide an avenue to resolve conflicting issues in a more timely manner,” Sankey said. “As I have repeatedly said, this game needed to be played. In the end, I want to give credit to the University of Florida for making concessions to move this year’s game to Baton Rouge.”
Sankey continued, thanking the schools who were forced to cancel games against the Gators and Tigers:
“Lastly, I send thanks to Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Karl Benson and his membership which worked in collaboration and a great spirit of cooperation in presenting options as we worked through this process,” Sankey said. “I also thank Presbyterian for its understanding of this situation.”
LSU was snubbed from the commissioner’s release, as was LSU AD Joe Alleva, who may have angered Sankey with comments made earlier in the week.
No matter who angered who and despite the fact that LSU was snubbed in the release, the important thing is that the game will get played.
LSU will host Florida on Saturday, Nov. 19.
