Some of the top college prospects in the country have descended on Orlando for the Under Armour All-America Game to take place at the Orlando Citrus Bowl on Saturday.
Among the events they took part in was a skills competition that took place Thursday and will air Friday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
The prospects competed with their teams for the All-America game and Team Armour won, but there were several SEC commits and targets who shined brightest in the skills competition.
Tennessee commit Jarret Guarantano of Ordell, N.J. won the quarterback pass attack competition. Guarantano is the second best quarterback in the country according to Rivals and committed to play for Butch Jones in Knoxville back in April.
In this drill quarterbacks had six chances to hit moving targets and a seventh throw to test their arm on distance. They were scored based on the difficulty of the targets they hit.
Guarantano has reportedly looked good in practice sessions and might be the best quarterback playing in the game. Winning this skill competition certainly adds to that report.
Local Orlando product and Auburn commit Woody Barrett finished sixth in the competition. Barrett is rated the 16th best quarterback in the country according to Rivals.
Ole Miss commit Gregory Little of Allen, Texas won the lineman strength competition. The five-star offensive lineman is the top offensive lineman in the country and fourth best overall prospect, according to Rivals. He bested TCU-commit Austin Myers.
Top defensive tackle prospect Rashan Gary has continued to turn heads in practices but lost in his heat in the lineman strength competition. It is about the only thing bad he has done in any of these evaluation camps.
Gary has not committed yet, but is considering Alabama and Auburn among several other schools, including Michigan and Ohio State out of the Big Ten and Miami from the ACC.
In the Under Armour Hands Competition, Florida commit Chauncey Gardner won among defensive backs. Gardner is the third best cornerback in the country according to Rivals. He defeated Mississippi product Nigel Knott, the second best cornerback in the country according to Rivals. Alabama, Ole Miss and Florida State are among the schools targeting Knott at the moment.
In all SEC commits or targets won three of the eight events. The whole skills competition will be aired on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET on Friday. The Under Armour All-America Game takes place Saturday at noon on ESPN2.
