For the last two decades, Florida has been one of the cleaner programs in the nation in terms of staying in line with the NCAA. On Friday, the NCAA decided they’d done enough to handle a rare violation in-house. The governing body won’t punish the Gators further for recruiting violations committed by a former assistant, the NCAA announced.
The violations in question were committed by former wide receivers coach Joker Phillips. It was the Gators’ first major recruiting violation since 1990.
