The SEC attracts some of the best football talent in the country. When so many talented athletes are concentrated in one conference, it’s only natural that some of them will have fathers who have had success in the world of sports.

From the NBA to boxing to the NFL, here are the SEC players with the most accomplished dads:

K.J. Malone, OL, LSU

When your dad is the second leading scorer in NBA history, you’re definitely going to find yourself on this list.

K.J. Malone’s father, Karl, played in the NBA from 1985 until 2004, racking up 36,928 points in his illustrious career. Karl also has two gold medals from his time on the USA basketball team, winning the Olympic tournament in 1992 and 1996.

K.J. is entering his junior year for the Tigers and should compete for more playing time this fall.

Camron Horry, TE, Texas A&M commit

Sticking with the NBA theme, Camron Horry’s father is Robert “Big Shot Bob” Horry. Robert won a whopping seven NBA titles.

In a career that spanned 16 years, Robert earned two rings with the Houston Rockets, three with the Los Angeles Lakers and two with the San Antonio Spurs.

Camron is a 2017 three-star tight end commit for the Aggies. Of course, Horry’s status with Texas A&M won’t be official until he signs in February.

Luke Del Rio, QB, Florida

Now we get to the players with Oakland Raiders connections. Luke Del Rio is a redshirt sophomore quarterback who is hoping to make an impact with the Gators this season.

Luke’s father, Jack, is the current head coach of the Raiders. Jack also served as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2003 to 2011.

Khalil McKenzie, DT, Tennessee

Khalil McKenzie is a sophomore defensive lineman who played in all 13 games for the Volunteers last year as a freshman.

His father, Reggie, is the general manager of the Oakland Raiders. Reggie was also a member of the Green Bay Packers’ front office from 1994 to 2011.

Elijah Holyfield, RB, Georgia

Elijah Holyfield is an incoming freshman who will most likely sit behind Nick Chubb and Sony Michel this season. However, he’s already impressing the UGA coaching staff.

His father, Evander, is the only four-time world heavyweight boxing champion. Evander also won a bronze medal in the 1984 Olympic boxing competition.

Jaire George, RB, Vanderbilt

Jaire is a redshirt freshman who didn’t see the field for the Commodores in 2015 after suffering a season-ending injury in the preseason.

Eddie George, Jaire’s dad, was a four-time Pro Bowler for the Houston Oilers and Tennessee Titans. Eddie also won the Heisman Trophy in 1995 and his No. 27 jersey has been retired by the Ohio State Buckeyes.
