Five years ago, not many SEC fans would have considered Davis Wade Stadium as one of the conference’s toughest places to win.
But under coach Dan Mullen, Mississippi State went undefeated at home in 2014. The Bulldogs also made the biggest jump in winning percentage during the last five seasons, going from No. 12 to No. 6 in large part because of last season’s perfect home record.
Former Big 12 teams Missouri and Texas A&M are holding their own at home, while Florida’s recent home results indicate The Swamp isn’t what it used to be.
Despite some teams’ falling winning percentages, no SEC team is under .500 the last five seasons at home. Rivals LSU and Alabama are tied for the best home record during that span, with the Tigers ceding sole position of first place after dropping two 2014 contests in Baton Rouge.
