When it comes to injuries, the best thing about bowl season for the SEC is that it doesn’t kick off until Dec. 29, when LSU takes on Texas Tech in the Texas Bowl.
That means the conference’s bowl participants should have plenty of time to get some important, but hurt, players back.
Here’s a look at some key injuries as SEC teams prepare for the postseason:
Arkansas: DB Cornelius Floyd (hamstring), WR Dominique Reed (ankle), LB Dwayne Eugene (thumb) and WR Eric Hawkins (concussion) are all listed as questionable for the Razorbacks’ Belk Bowl matchup against Kansas State on Jan. 2.
Auburn: QB Sean White (knee), OL Austin Golson (knee), DL Jauntavius Johnson (knee) and DL Prince Teja Wanogho Jr. (leg) are listed as questionable for the Tigers’ Birmingham Bowl matchup with Memphis on Dec. 30.
Florida: OL Alex McCallister (foot) is questionable for the Gators’ Citrus Bowl matchup with Michigan on Jan. 1.
Georgia: WR Isaiah McKenzie (foot) and DL Trent Thompson (ankle) are questionable for the Bulldogs’ TaxSlayer Bowl matchup with Penn State on Jan. 2. DE Chauncey Rivers and LB Natrez Patrick, who were suspended by then-coach Mark Richt following their arrests for misdemeanor for marijuana possession, are listed as questionable.
LSU: FB Bry’Keithon Mouton (undisclosed) and TE DeSean Smith (undisclosed) are listed as questionable for the Tigers’ game against the Red Raiders.
Ole Miss: DE Fadol Brown (foot) is expected to miss the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma State on Jan. 1.
Note: SEC teams that are not listed do not have any notable injuries. You can see the full NCAA college football injury report here.
