SEC kickoff weather forecast: dress warm this weekend

After rain and lightning hounded the league early in the season, SEC fans should enjoy beautiful football weather for a third consecutive week.

Saturday’s six games involving SEC teams should remain dry and pleasant, with hardly a cloud in the sky. There’s a zero percent chance of precipitation at kickoff in all six games, but fans should dress for some cool weather.

Athens, Ga., should be sunny and 64 degrees when the Bulldogs and Commodores kick off between the hedges.

But South Carolina and Kentucky should face kickoff temperatures of 51 degrees with a nice breeze in Lexington, Ky. The wind will gradually decrease during the game, but temperatures will sink into the mid-40s by the fourth quarter. That’ll be pretty miserable for any of those shirtless, chest-painting yahoos lingering at Commonwealth Stadium.

For players, though, clear skies and temperatures mostly in the 50s is pretty perfect fall football conditions. Here’s to hoping this kind of weather sticks around all year.

The first week with six SEC vs. SEC games should be a good one if you plan to tailgate or watch from a stadium seat.

Check out the complete kickoff forecast below.
