The Sooners will be making their debut on the road in the SEC, looking to right the ship following a tough home loss to Tennessee. Oklahoma struggled offensively in a 25-15 defeat, prompting Brent Venables to give freshman quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. a chance to run the offense for much of the second half.
It remains to be seen if starter Jaxson Arnold fulfills his usual role this week or if Hawkins is now in place to take over as starter.
Meanwhile, Auburn will be looking to right a ship that is sinking even faster. The Tigers were upset by California at home in Week 2 before they fell to Arkansas 24-14 on Saturday. Freshman quarterback Hank Brown started the game but was benched after throwing 3 interceptions, and veteran Payton Thorne stepped in but only fared marginally better in the loss.
Desperation will be the name of the game in Auburn on Saturday, as the loser of this one faces a difficult path to bowl eligibility given each of their remaining schedules.
