SEC Network analysts debate the most important non-QB players in the league

The SEC is widely regarded by many as the most talent-rich conference in college football. Each year, numerous prospects are selected for the NFL Draft. This year should certainly be no different.

SEC Network analysts Matt Stinchcomb and Roman Harper were recently tasked with the fun challenge of picking the best 3 players in the conference not at the quarterback position.

Stinchcomb selected South Carolina wide receiver Shi Smith first, followed by Auburn linebacker K.J. Britt and Ole Miss wide receiver Elijah Moore.

On top of Harper’s list was Florida tight end Kyle Pitts, followed by Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses and LSU cornerback Derrick Stingley.

Pitts has amassed six touchdowns and 227 yards for undefeated Florida through the season’s first two games. Pitts has already exceeded his touchdown total (5) from last season.

“He’s a big-play guy,” Harper said. “…He is what makes Kyle Trask have the ability to do what he’s been able to do so far.”

Smith has hauled in 22 receptions, 225 yards, and two touchdowns. Smith already has tied his touchdown total from last season.

“Every time in the passing game they’re looking to get it to No. 13 and a lot of times they’ve been successful,” Stinchcomb said. “…He has been the drumbeat of this Gamecock offense.”
