It’s entirely possible that your favorite SEC player is on some sort of preseason All-American list.
But only five of them made the lists of all six of these media outlets — ESPN, CBS Sports, Athlon, The Sporting News, Phil Steele and Lindy’s. And they are: Alabama defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson, Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III, Georgia running back Nick Chubb and two Ole Miss teammates, offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche.
Alabama (8) leads the SEC in number of players on these preseason All-American lists, while Georgia (6) and Ole Miss (5) are not far off.
Coincidentally, this is where these teams are ranked in the Associated Press’ preseason Top 25 poll: Alabama (third), Georgia (ninth) and Ole Miss (17th).
The only schools not represented on any of these lists are Kentucky, Missouri and Vanderbilt.
