The SEC will continue to hold its annual conference baseball tournament in Hoover, Alabama, which first hosted the event in 1990 and has been the venue every year since 1998.
The momentum behind a proposed change stems from the bad weather the tournament has experienced in recent years between heat and rain, as well as the push for a larger city to host the event. In the end, SEC coaches stuck with what has been tradition for 25 years.
I’m told that #SEC coaches voted in mid-September on where to have the conference baseball tournament, and the vote was unanimous to stay at the Hoover Met in Hoover, Ala.

Dallas was among the cities that made a major push for hosting the tournament as the SEC begins to expand further westward with the additions of Texas and Oklahoma. Despite its financial pull, Dallas did not win the right to host the tournament, and the city of Hoover will continue to prosper as one of the more passionate venues for SEC Baseball.
Dallas had been pushing hard for it, and money usually talks, but the coaches held firm.

As Rucker noted, a move to a dome may be in the cards in the future if weather concerns persist. For now, the Hoover Met Complex will continue to be the venue for the SEC Baseball Tournament.
