SEC Shorts is back with another wonderful episode coming out of Week 9! This time, the popular comedy show breaks down Texas A&M’s wild journey throughout Mike Elko’s first season as head coach.
As Texas A&M begins to set off on the start of the 2024 season, the Aggies are greeted by a willing companion, simply known as “Battered Aggie Syndrome.” Despite insisting they go it alone, the Aggies are reminded that the Syndrome will be there forever.
The Aggies begin their trek out of the basement at 15th place where Auburn and Kentucky are hand-fighting back and forth. They quickly move on to a 13th-place visit with Oklahoma who insists on playing the role of janitor instead.
A close win over Arkansas in 7th place elicits jokes about Mark Stoops. At 6th place, A&M bypasses a “very nervous Alabama” who is monitoring a conspiracy theory board as the Tide cope with 2 losses before we reach November.
At the end, A&M prepares for the 1st-place showdown with LSU by donning blackout attire while the Syndrome admits its a great way to pump up the crowd for the inevitable loss. Instead, LSU appears just to inquire about running QBs while acknowledging the Tigers cannot fathom stopping a dual-threat QB before gracefully bowing out.
Now, A&M is on top of the SEC, but can the Aggies stay there? That’s the theme of the ending as A&M realizes the 1st place view is nice but still unfinished as we hit November.
