With the exception of Alabama’s matchup against Clemson in the College Football Playoff national championship on Jan. 11, the 2015 bowl season is over for the SEC.
But what a bowl season it has been. The SEC has gone 8-2 this postseason, with Texas A&M and Florida being the only conference teams to have lost their bowl games.
Seven SEC teams won by 20 or more points.
The SEC’s eight wins and .800 winning percentage are the best of any conference.
Let’s take a look at the SEC bowls stats leaders in 2015:
Most passing yards — Dak Prescott, Mississippi State: The senior QB threw for a Belk Bowl-record 380 yards and four touchdowns on a rain-soaked field in Mississippi State’s 51-28 victory over North Carolina State. Selected the game MVP, Prescott completed 25 of 42 passes and ran for 47 yards while joining Colin Kaepernick, Tim Tebow and Dan LeFevour as the only players in FBS history to throw for 9,000 yards and run for 2,500 yards in their career.
