Kentucky extended the nation’s longest losing streak to a single opponent with its 36-30 loss to Florida in a triple-overtime thriller in the Swamp Saturday night. The loss also extended Kentucky’s losing streak against SEC opponents to 17 games and extended its losing streak in true road games to 18 games in a row.
Here are some other streaks from around the SEC that were extended or ended this weekend:
- Alabama has now scored in 172 consecutive games after topping Southern Miss 52-12 on Saturday, the longest such streak in the history of the program.
- Georgia place kicker Marshall Morgan set a new SEC record by hitting his 19th consecutive field goal attempt in Saturday’s 38-35 loss to South Carolina. Morgan had that streak snapped later in the game, and would eventually miss a potential game-tying kick in the fourth quarter of a three-point loss.
- Kentucky‘s streak of 181 plays without a turnover to open the season was snapped in its loss to Florida.
- LSU won its 48th consecutive regular season non-conference showdown with its 31-0 win over Louisiana Monroe Saturday night. Les Miles is now a perfect 38-0 in such games since arriving in Baton Rouge. The Tigers’ defense has also gone 19 straight possessions without allowing a single point dating back to their week 1 comeback win over Wisconsin.
- Missouri forced a turnover for the 47th consecutive game in a win over UCF Saturday afternoon thanks to Josh Augusta’s third quarter interception of Knights’ quarterback Christian Brinser.
- Tennessee lost its ninth consecutive coin tosses to begin a game dating back to last season.
