Ad Disclosure
There’s a literary device commonly used on Twitter that follows the same basic template. It essentially reads:
“I’m not a fan of [insert team, player or coach here], but …”
Opinions range and rage from über fandom to blind anger to corn dogs. Yes, you read that correctly. Corn dogs.
Think of it as Twitter’s version of the backhanded compliment.
Whatever you want to call it, its reserves are rooted deep in the Twitterverse, and not one SEC team and its fans are immune from using it among their allotted 140 characters.
“I’m not a fan of __, but …”
