The SEC released its All-SEC Team recently, as voted on by its coaches. It was a star-studded team with all of the familiar names.
What would happen, though, if you chose an all-league squad with just seniors? We’re about to find out:
OFFENSE
TE — Jerell Adams, South Carolina: Adams came on strong late in the season, finishing with 28 catches for 421 yards and three touchdowns.
WR — Malcolm Mitchell, Georgia: Even with uneven quarterback play, Mitchell finished 10th in the SEC with 53 catches to go with his 751 yards and four TDs.
WR — Ricardo Louis, Auburn: Like Mitchell, Louis was hindered by his team’s struggles at quarterback. He ended with 45 receptions for 699 yards and three TDs.
T — Vadal Alexander, LSU: NFL scouts like him as a high draft pick as a guard, but Alexander had a strong senior season at tackle clearing the way for Leonard Fournette.
G — Sebastian Tretola, Arkansas: Tabbed an All-SEC choice by the coaches, Tretola is the standout on an NFL-sized offensive line for the ground-and-pound Razorbacks.
C — Ryan Kelly, Alabama: Another All-SEC choice, Kelly is the leader of a talented Crimson Tide line.
G — Aaron Morris, Ole Miss: A strong senior campaign for the Rebels has him on the radar of NFL scouts.
T — John Theus, Georgia: A projected first- or second-round pick in May’s NFL Draft, Theus helped pave the way for Nick Chubb and Sony Michel’s rushing exploits.
QB — Dak Prescott, Mississippi State: Prescott capped a stellar career by throwing for 3,413 yards and 25 TDs against just four interceptions. He also ran for 541 yards and 10 more TDs.
RB — Tra Carson, Texas A&M: Carson was seventh in the league with 1,059 yards and six TDs in the Aggies’ pass-happy attack.
RB — Jaylen Walton, Ole Miss: Walton had 690 yards and five TDs on the ground as well as 22 catches for 166 yards. And he did it despite missing a game against New Mexico.
DEFENSE
DE — Ryan Brown, Mississippi State: Brown had 39 tackles, a pair of sacks and eight tackles for loss.
DE — Cassanova McKinzy, Auburn: Listed as a linebacker, McKinzey also played some defensive end for the Tigers. He had 74 tackles and five sacks.
DT — Jonathan Bullard, Florida: An All-SEC pick, Bullard had a monster year for the Gators with 63 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss.
DT — Jarran Reed, Alabama: Reed was fourth on the team with 53 tackles, moving him up to a projected first- or second-round draft pick.
LB — Kentrell Brothers, Missouri: Brothers led the nation with 152 tackles, 12 more than the second-place player. Only his height (6-0) may keep him out of the first round of the NFL Draft.
LB — Antonio Morrison, Florida: Morrison had 97 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks at the heart of the Gator defense.
LB — Reggie Ragland, Alabama: Had 90 tackles and 2.5 sacks en route to earning All-SEC honors.
CB — De’Vante Harris, Texas A&M: Harris had two picks, 29 tackles and 10 passes defended.
CB — Mike Hilton, Ole Miss: Was in the top five in both passes broken up (11) and passes defended (13) in his final season.
S — Trae Elston, Ole Miss: Picked off four passes and returned two of them for scores in 2015.
S — Blake Countess, Auburn: Countess recorded two interceptions, 10 pass break ups and a dozen passes defended.
