Shane Beamer effect: South Carolina announces record number of new season ticket sales

South Carolina is ushering in a new era of football with the hiring of former Oklahoma assistant Shane Beamer.
The athletics department announced that the record for season ticket sales has been broken with 8,370 new season tickets purchased with only 3 weeks left before its season opener.
This toppled the previous record of 8,323 new season ticket sales in 2019. Beamer has also challenged the fan base to reach 9,004 new season ticket holder sales as part of his 9-4 challenge to change the culture of South Carolina football.
According to South Carolina Athletics, ticket sales are trending towards 40,000 tickets sold for the 2021 season so far.
The Gamecocks open up the season against Eastern Illinois at 7 p.m. ET on Sept. 4 on SEC Network+.
