Shane Beamer and South Carolina stiffled Oklahoma on Saturday, and now attention turns to an open week ahead of a Nov. 2 home game against Texas A&M.

Two players that South Carolina hopes can get back to health relatively soon is defensive tackle DeAndre Jules, who has 13 tackles and a fumble recovery through 5 games of the season, and wide receiver Jared Brown, who has been limited to 4 games. Neither player has appeared on the field since the loss to Ole Miss on Oct. 5.

Beamer, during his weekly Sunday teleconference, expressed optimism that Brown would be available for the game against the Aggies. That said, while “there’s still a chance” that Jules could play as well, the likelihood isn’t as great.

Beamer had originally ruled Jules’ injury “short-term” heading into the Alabama game but stated that he’d be back against the Aggies if he didn’t return for Oklahoma. But it sounds as if there’s been a slight setback in those plans.

Meanwhile, Brown has been trying to shake off an injury that he suffered several weeks ago. He was able to return against Ole Miss after missing a few weeks but hasn’t played since.

South Carolina is 4-3 after its win over Oklahoma, moving to 2-3 in the SEC in the process.
