The new contract comes after one of South Carolina’s best seasons in recent memory. The Gamecocks went 9-3 this season and were on the cusp of reaching the College Football Playoff. It marked the first time South Carolina has won more than 8 games in a season since 2013 when it went 11-2 under Steve Spurrier.
According to USA Today’s head coaching salaries database, Beamer was 33rd nationally in salary for the 2024 season. His new salary would place him tied for 15th with Oklahoma coach Brent Venables in 2025.
Expectations will be very high for Shane Beamer and Co. going into 2025. The Gamecocks are set to return LaNorris Sellers, Dylan Stewart and numerous other key players from their 2024 season. South Carolina will have legitimate CFP aspirations going into next fall.
