New South Carolina coach Shane Beamer is beginning his second stint in Columbia, as he also spent the 2007-2010 seasons as an assistant on Steve Spurrier’s staffs.
Beamer appeared on “Out of Pocket” on Saturday morning, and host Alyssa Lang asked him about his favorite memory from that time.
It was no surprise when Beamer smiled and mentioned how incredible it was to beat No. 1 Alabama in 2010:

“Beating Alabama in Columbia when they were the No. 1 team in the country, that’s hard to beat that day,” he said. “That was an amazing day in Columbia, South Carolina, and an amazing day at Williams-Brice Stadium and showed what can be done there. Those were 2 immensely talented teams on the field that day. It was an awesome day for the Carolina Gamecocks and we’re working to get back so we can have many more memories like that against great teams like that.”
Can Beamer lead the Gamecocks to more big wins like that?
