Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks delivered 2 memorable wins down the stretch, and now the coach is set to be rewarded with a significant pay raise.
Beamer, who led South Carolina to an 8-win season including wins over top-10 foes Tennessee and Clemson, is set to receive a huge raise. Sources told ESPN’s Chris Low that he will go from $2.75 million to the $6.5 million range annually in average salary, and there’s a Board meeting Friday to approve deal.
The Gamecocks stumbled in the Gator Bowl against Notre Dame, but are considered one of the SEC teams with momentum entering the 2023 season. Beamer is 15-11 in 2 seasons at South Carolina, and will have new offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, who came from the Arkansas staff to replace Marcus Satterfield, who left for the same position at Nebraska.
The Gamecocks have seen considerable turnover, as MarShawn Lloyd and Jaheim Bell each departed, however, Dakereon Joyner announced that he would return.
