Missouri QB Shawn Robinson has his waiver denied by the NCAA, will be forced to sit out the season

No surprise here, the NCAA handed down some bad new to Missouri.
As if handing down an overbearing punishment and postseason ban wasn’t enough, Missouri recently discovered that backup quarterback Shawn Robinson had his waiver to play immediately this season denied by the NCAA. This news was first reported by the TCU SBNation site, Frogs O’ War.
Robinson previously spent two seasons at TCU before announcing his transfer to Missouri this offseason. During his two seasons in Fort Worth, Robinson appeared in 12 games, passing for 1,518 yards with 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He hoped to become eligible immediately, like so many other college quarterbacks this offseason, but will no have to sit out the 2019 season.
This news may not be devastating to Missouri but it does hurt the team’s depth at the game’s most important position. On the bright side, Robinson may now have the opportunity to start two seasons in Columbia should he win the job after Kelly Bryant graduates.
